Kumon Putra Heights: February 2010

Yesterday, an incident occured where 3 students missing from the centre while waiting for their parents to pick up. When one of the parents called up to enquire if her children are ready, I said yes. However, as I turned around to check them out, the children were no longer in the centre.

Sensing something amiss, I called mum immediately to check if anyone else from the family could have done the pick up, and mum said NO. My heart fell and I looked fanatically for the children. They were no where to be seen.

One of the parent who has just walk up to the centre told me that there are a few children standing across the road outside the centre. Immediately, I rushed down and true enough, I found them.

After calling mum to inform her that her children were now with me, I brought them back to the centre and warn them not to leave the centre without my permission.

Meanwhile, parents concerned were informed to contact me if they wish to have the children go down the centre alone.

Reflecting back on the whole incidence, I must thank god the children are safe. Also, to the parent who inform me that there are children outside the centre.

As security continue to be a treat to us, I view the matter seriously as this type of incidence must not happen again.

I will be more vigilant and all teachers will be trained to be more vigilant. We will improve our communication to parents in order for parents to contact us directly should there be any issues faced during the pick up. Our children's safety is of utmost importance.
